#1 講天文topic 有理論有計數 幾有趣 比大通天文UGEB2401深少少 但有基本物理知識(DSE phys)就take得 計數方面都唔會太深 唔使Calculus。讀過UGEB2401 大通天文嘅話唔take得。功課冇source 佢年年都出份新 但有上堂嘅唔難做,唔take attendance 可走堂 |

Description: The course aims
at introducing basic concepts of astronomy and astrophysics, assuming only a
secondary school physics and mathematics background. It is designed not only
to present a volume of knowledge, but also to arouse students’ curiosity in
how nature works. Topics include: the universe at different scales, the Earth
and the sky, lunar phases, tides and eclipses, the rise of modern astronomy,
theory of motion and gravitation, relativity, the solar system, measuring
stars, birth of stars, structure of stars, post-main-sequence evolution, the
death of stars, neutron stars, black holes, galaxies and cosmology. Optional
activities, for examples, star-gazing trips and visits, may be arranged. Learning
Outcome: 1.acquire basic
knowledge about astronomy and astrophysics and to be well prepared for
advanced study in astrophysics 2.gain an
insight into how scientists approach a problem and how they apply the
scientific method to seek answers 3.develop an
ability to appreciate the beauty of the universe and to glance at the
thoughts of the physics giants in history, so that physicists’ point of view
can be cultivated. |
