CUSIS科目資料	Description： This is the first of the two foundation courses in global studies. In this course, students will learn what globalization is, have an overview of the major issues in global studies, and a more nuanced understanding of the economic, sociocultural, and technological implications of globalization. This course will begin with an in-depth discussion on the concept and history of globalization and a brief survey of major issues in global studies, including (1) international trade, investment, economic development, international business, and international regulators (IMF/World Bank); (2) technology and media; (3) migration, culture and education; (4) energy, environment, and health; (5) international law, human rights, gender issues; and (6) international cooperation, conflicts and collective behaviors. This course will focus on the first three issues. Learning Outcome： This is one of the foundation courses that aims to promote students’ global mindset and problem solving ability.
