It covers the following core topics: characteristics of Chinese culture; Chinese thought; and Chinese political, social, and economic life. Other topics may also be covered, such as Chinese religion, science and technology in traditional China, the Chinese intelligentsia, and so on.   Learning Outcome： 1.dentify the main characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. 2. Appraise Chinese culture. 3. Reflect on the future of Chinese culture in contemporary world 4. Engage in critical discussion concerning the future of Chinese culture.

CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course aims to provide a general understanding of traditional Chinese thoughts through some great debates in the development of Chinese culture. These great debates include various issues: man and heaven, human nature, individual and society, ethics and law, ideals of life, etc. The course is to be conducted in an argumentative approach, through lectures, readings, and particularly, debates and discussions, students will achieve a critical reflection on Chinese culture and its value for modern life.   Learning Outcome： 1.      辨識及描述傳統思想的主要特徵及相關議題的不同觀點。 2.      分析並闡述相關觀點背後的理據。 3.      培養評鑑傳統思想之能力。 4.      辨識傳統思想於現代生活之價值。
