Description：
Study of modern
communication principles and theories for the understanding of human
communication as well as communication processes within and between social
systems.
Learning
Outcome：
By the end of
the course, students should:
1. Have basic
and critical understanding of different mass communication theories;
2. Know the
various roles of the mass media in society;
3. Be able to
organize and present their own ideas and arguments in tutorial, essay writing
and group project;
4. Have their
own points of view on social phenomena related to the mass media;
5. Able to
theorize about mass communication phenomena in our daily lives;
6. Know how to
think like a social scientist.
