CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course deals with the fundamentals of statistical methods, including descriptive statistics, probability, statistical inference, simple linear regression and basic ANOVA. Application of statistical methods to problems pertaining to business will be emphasized throughout this course.   Learning Outcome： After completing this course, students should be able to: (1) Understand and use the basic language and tools of statistics: knowing what statistical terms mean, understanding the use of statistical symbols, and recognizing and being able to interpret representations of data; (2) Master several important distributions, including normal distribution; (3) Recognize how, when, and why existing inferential tools can be used, including simple linear regression and basic ANOVA; (4) Understand the context of a business problem, and to apply statistics analysis to solve the problem and to draw conclusions; (5) Have working knowledge of Excel or other statistic software in terms of basic data analysis tasks.

CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course develops students' conceptual skills and competence in processing, preparing and reporting accounting information in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It introduces the basic concepts and principles of financial accounting including the analysis, recording and reporting of business transactions; preparation and interpretation of financial statements. Topics include the accounting principles, the recording process, accounting for assets, liabilities, net income and shareholders' equity; and decision making using accounting information.  Learning Outcome： After completing this course, students should be able to: (1) understand the GAAP underlying the preparation and presentation of financial statements.  (2) apply the appropriate accounting concepts and principles to the recognition and measurement relating to revenues, expenses, assets, liabilities and equity. (3) undertake the work involved in the recording, processing, summarising and reporting phases of the accounting cycle. (4) prepare financial statements (statement of financial position, statement of comprehensive income and statement of changes in equity). (5) appreciate the role and importance of financial accounting information in assisting decision-making in a business context. (6) apply basic analytical tools to analyse, interpret and report on financial statements. (7) communicate their analysis and findings in an effective way.

CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course is a general introduction to the theory of price in a market economy. Topics include basic economic concepts, the theory of demand, production and cost, the operation of firms in competitive, oligopolistic and monopolistic markets, costs and benefits of government intervention in market economy, and introduction to game theory and informational economics. Analytical approach is used whenever appropriate. Applications on practical business problems are emphasized. Learning Outcome： After completing this course, students should be able to understand, explain and identify the followings: (1) Basic concepts of scarcity, opportunity cost, demand and supply mechanisms and their applications to the business world. (2) The factors that determine the market demand and their effects by the concept of elasticity. (3) The factors that determine the market supply, the relationship between production function and costs of production. (4) The different market structures (i.e., perfect competition, monopoly and oligopoly) and relate them to the conduct of a firm and performance of the industry. (5) The market failure and their remedies.
