CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course identifies and provides a framework for analysing the major financial decisions by a firm. Issues addressed include valuation, investment decision-making, analysis of risk, financial planning, dividend policy, working capital management, and the financing mix for the firm.   Learning Outcome： The primary objective of this course is to provide an introduction to financial concepts and fundamental principles for undergraduate business students who have little prior knowledge or training in finance. It is intended to be basic. At the end of the semester, students are expected to be able to: ~ improve their understanding of the vocabulary of finance; ~ communicate more effectively with financial practitioners; ~ develop guidelines to assess the performance of a firm in financial terms; ~ enhance their ability to use financial analysis when required to make decisions; ~ better understand the impact of financial decisions on the performance of a firm; ~ develop a critical thinking mindset.

Discussions include intersectoral flow-of-funds analysis, determination of interest rates and analysis of money and capital markets.   Learning Outcome： This course aims to provide an overview of the role of financial sector and the functions of different financial instruments traded in key financial markets, with particular emphasis to the Hong Kong environment. Interest rate and its impact on financial markets will also be discussed.
