#1 fun,勁好人,上堂好多遊戲玩順便計bonus,唔take attendence,但係mid-termfinal偏深,九成九係應用題 好少考definition,個mean低過其他professor唔少,有grp project而且要present,佢講到明會幫手處理freerider,留證據同佢講就ok

Description

This introductory course in management will focus in the discussions of the four major functions of modern management, namely, planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. We will also try to learn to appreciate the art and science of management.

Moreover, there are four special topics in modern management in this course, namely, Communication, Decision Making, Management of International Business, and Entrepreneurship.

This is a first course in management. Like many other first courses, this course is a survey of basic functions in the subject—management. Many subsequent courses in your major will build on the concepts that you come across in this course.

 

Learning Outcome

By the end of the course, 

 a. You will be able to describe the major features of a business organization and the environments in which it operates.

b. You will be able to describe and analyze the managerial roles and the four major management functions, i.e., Planning, Organizing, Leading, and Controlling.

c. You will learn the process of communications in the individual level as well as organizational level.

d. You will learn the process and traps of decision making. You will also learn techniques to make more effective decisions.

e. You will understand such international businesses topics as cross cultural business, economic systems in the world, entry modes, and others. 

f. You will appreciate the characteristics of entrepreneurs and the process of entrepreneurship, including but not limited to idea generations, justifications, and development of business plans.

g. You will learn to apply the management concepts in the real life business situations in order to diagnose the problems, recommend solutions and achieve organizational effectiveness, and

h. You will also learn to develop the knowledge and skills of management functions in order to work as an effective and efficient manager in their future career.

#1 其實按道理嚟講教既野會有啲同Dse bafs paper1重疊; 不過David教既課題同其他prof有好大程度上既唔同, 變相讀過dse bafs paper1內容都無乜用🤦David主要教leadership style,  evidence based management等一啲同管理有關既基本課題

評價教員教學

#1 全堂英文, 講書flow有啲跳脫, catch up請自行睇powerpoint; 不過教得好用心, email/約佢喺office問問題都無問題; mid term and final全部都係open book exam(正確嚟講係乜都用得, 包括電話電腦, google search都可以), 仲要有例題提供, 所以平均分都幾高, 不過佢講明會比好grade; HBR write-up係難寫既(對我嚟講), 尤其有啲article係十幾版密麻麻既字, 仲要你比一啲article以外既實例, 不過有1個月時間作1, 唔識既可以問佢, 佢會好詳細咁答你, 同埋都會有例子教你點作, 所以唔使驚份write up搞唔掂
