CUSIS科目資料	Description： Physiology is the study of body functions. Using both integrative and comparative approaches, this course covers different functions of animals such as neural conduction and integration, endocrine communication, muscle contraction, circulation, respiration, excretion, reproduction, etc., and the maintenance of a stable internal environment. The adaptive and evolutionary changes in different groups of animals are also discussed and compared. Learning Outcome： The students are expected to develop a good understanding of the basic physiological concepts and principles underlying the functions of each major organ system as well as the body as a whole. After completion of the course, the students are supposed to have learnt and understand the following key issues and principles of animal physiology, which will be essential for them to pursue a career in teaching, research in the areas of animal biology and biomedical sciences, as well as biotech and biomedical industry.
