評價教學內容	#1  容易上手,教基本research cycle, ethics, sampling methods 等等,跟住textbook教（group project 可以自訂題目(tutor approve 就得), 由 literature review, identify concepts, sampling 到自己搵人interview同present results 全部自己可以試一次, tutor 都肯guide住, 學到野）

CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course is an introduction to the fundamental principles and procedures of empirical research in sociology. Students will be presented with the theoretical and practical challenges involved in problem formulation, research design, data collection, and data analysis. We will examine some of the major types of both qualitative and quantitative social research methods (e.g., survey research, qualitative interviews, and ethnography) and the sampling, measurement and analysis issues involved with their use. Students will be asked to conduct and report a basic research project involving either a quantitative or qualitative method.   Learning Outcome： 1.        To understand the role of evidence and qualitative and quantitative methods in sociology; 2.        To get knowledge about the basic concepts in social science research methods 3.        To grasp technical skills involved in data collection, data management and data analysis; 4.        To develop analytical and critical-thinking skills through the application of theories, concepts and skills 5.        To be able to design and conduct a real empirical research; 6.        To further develop transferable skills beyond disciplinary requirements, including written, communication and information technology skills.

評價教學內容	#1 會教soci嘅基本concepts，基本上堂堂都會播同concept相關嘅香港/中國事件嘅video，同埋啲concepts都同日常生活幾相關幾fun。soc sci fac pack嚟講呢個course嘅workload偏重同難嘅，不過今年轉咗chris 第一年教覺得difficulty同worload比起往年淺咗輕咗，不過選fac pack前都建議三思
評價教員教學	#1 chris都幾有心教，有問必答，但佢把聲唔算入mic，要聽得明需要時間，但好處係佢會放片上panopto所以上完堂番屋企溫書可以重溫
CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course introduces basic concepts and principles in the field of sociology, helping students to make sense of their social life. Ideas such as social norms, social roles, social interactions, social institutions and social processes will be examined. This course also gives a brief introduction to major classical and contemporary sociological theories which explain how individuals and society are related to each other, especially how personal experiences are rooted in a particular social setting. Through these discussions, students should be able to think more critically towards a wide range of social issues and taken for granted social practices.   Learning Outcome： 1. overview of sociology as a discipline; 2. basic understanding of important sociological concepts and theories; 3. basic understanding of sociological research method; 4. thinking critically; 5. reflection on one's values and way of life.

評價教學內容	#1 上堂會教好多 sociology concepts，然後會係咁 apply 落中國社會嘅scenario (e.g. 大媽、農民工). 但係中國社會嘅內容唔好expect 會教到好深入，因為個 course 嘅重點係點樣用 sociological concepts (特別係 functional 同 conflicting theoretical perspectives). 兩份2000字30% 嘅 assignment 都會要分析一個社會現象有啲咩 sociological concepts 可以套用到落去，所以本身對 social science/ sociology 有興趣嘅話其實好好讀（會錄片擺上Panopto, 有兩個禮拜時間可以睇返） #2 少少悶 但上堂會播片 可以走堂
評價教員教學	#1 雖然講嘢把聲有啲難聽，不過其實好nice, 上堂問佢問題佢都會肯答，唔識會解到明為止；問佢 assignments 點寫都會解釋得好清楚 #2 好好人
CUSIS科目資料	Description： This course will introduce students to a variety of social science concepts and theories to analyse contemporary China from an integrated perspective. After taking this course, students should be able to grasp the current development in key areas of China including economic reform, political system and change, rural and urban development, social inequality, family and marriage, cultural and ideological issues, as well as other institutional developments.   Learning Outcome： 1.       Students should be able to understand the social science perspective used in this course to comprehend the main aspects of social change in contemporary China.  They should be familiar with the key concepts and theories adopted from sociology, economics and political science in the analysis.  2.       Students are expected to grasp the basic knowledge about China’s major institutions such as socialist market economy, party-state politics, stratification and family etc. 3.   Besides general knowledge, students are encouraged to focus on a special topic through their writing assignments like the dilemmas between economic development and social equality, democracy and developmental state, traditional culture and modernization etc.
